Welcome to the all new The World of Myth magazine. This new PDF format should prove easy to use, read and look great as well. But don’t worry, TWoM hasn’t changed completely. We’re still dedicated to bringing you the best magazine possible.
To avoid confusion, allow me to explain exactly what we’re doing here and how it affects you, the reader.
Beginning with this issue, August 2008, TWoM will be available only as a PDF document which can be downloaded for a small price. The June issue will remain posted on our web site and will continue to be free.
In October 2008, the August issue will replace the June issue on our web site while the new, October issue will be made available as a pdf document which can be purchased as a download. In other words, TWoM magazine will continue to publish free content on the web as it always has – however, it will always be one issue (two months) behind. To receive the newest copy, simply download the PDF document which can be viewed with programs such as Adobe, Foxit, etc.
This idea is the best solution we found to solve the problem of providing free web content while at the same time, providing writers with the opportunity to earn money for their work. A paying magazine draws more writers. More writers submitting more work means that overall story quality goes up and that attracts more readers. As our reader base grows, the number of paying subscribers grows as well. It’s a win-win situation for everyone.
This format is as close as we can come to making everyone happy. For those who want the latest issue of TWoM as soon as it is published, it will be made available for purchase as a PDF download. For those who want to read TWoM without cost, the two-month-old issue will be posted online as soon as the newest, freshest issue is made available to our paying readers.
I hope you will consider subscribing to our magazine and supporting the up and coming writers who work so hard to bring you the best stories, poems and artwork available. We welcome your comments on this new format.
Now if you’ll excuse me, my new Assistant Editor is calling me into her office – something about pins and needles. I have no idea what she intends to do with them, but there’s one way to find out. Maybe it has something to do with that bed of nails she recently purchased…
