The Secret Weakness of Dragons

The dragon knew that the boy was right. He thought about it for a few minutes anyway, hoping he might quickly come up with a loophole. He found none of course, and so he sadly packed up his things and said goodbye to the boy. The young man gave the dragon the second pound of biscuits for the journey that he had ahead of him and waved goodbye.

Then the young man started down the mountain, sad but content, and wandered home to explain to his mother that they would have to stay at her sister's house for a while, so that the construction could get under way. He then explained to her that they should begin to prepare, for he was going to marry the princess, and that the date of the wedding would be in exactly one year to the day. He also explained that she should plan on making lots of biscuits for the wedding, as his Best Man, or, Best Dragon to be more specific, would probably be rather hungry for them by then.

His mother smiled, happy to know that even dragons loved her biscuits.
