Hello Mythketeers,
As you can see, the magazine is yet again late. I own that. It has been a hard year, but I do understand that there is no excuse for not holding up my end of the bargain. You submit quality work, and I make sure that it is edited and ready for publication on the 24th of every month. I do promise to do better.
Now, to explain the delay for this month. I was traveling. I was returning to my home in Canada, which took a while as I am cheap and won't fly direct. When I arrived, I had a day to catch my breath, then I was off to help family with various projects that they had asked for my assistance with. I also vend at fairs and festivals during the summer to help offset the costs of traveling and support my meager income. So, I had an event to do shortly after I returned and had to make sure I had enough stock made (I make jewelry and things) for that sale. I may even put some of it on Myth Mart, now that I think about it. I have bookmarks and pretty bling. LOL! Shameless self-promotion there, but this is my column after all. Anyway, my wheels touched down, and my feet haven't stopped moving since. I finally got some time to catch my breath, and now we have a magazine. So, I want to thank you all for being so patient with me and for your continued support.
Now, for a more serious note. I want you all to read the commentator's page. We have some serious updates regarding the company and the direction we are going, and I feel that you need to hear it from our Fearless Leader, David K Montoya. This has been a hard and heartbreaking time for both of us, but specifically for him as he has watched his dream, his baby, slowly disappear. Again, I want to thank all those who are standing by us and supporting us and for believing in us.
Now, one more piece of shameless self-promotion. Please read Tim's Timeless Treasures. Why? Because he always reviews great books, ones you can purchase on Myth Mart, but this month, he has reviewed my book. My first one. I think you will enjoy the review. He surely enjoyed the book! Thank you, Tim.
I would like to congratulate Crystal N. Ramos and her piece Red on the Page for winning Member of the Month. I think we, as creatives, have all been there once or twice. I know I could relate to this drabble for sure. You can read it HERE.
Congratulations to Connie Minutolo on our amazing cover art.
I want to send out a big congratulations to our youngest contributor to ever be Featured Article, Miss Zoie M. Montoya. Her poem Lonely not only showcases her ability to illicit an intense emotion but also gives us a peek into the girl behind the artwork.
Well done!
Before I end this intro, I just want to say again, thank you. For patience, support, love, and understanding. Without you, we wouldn't be here, and while we are going through a rough patch, and the future may look different than what it is right now, we will remain, in some form. I have faith in that.
Until next month
