BURBANK, CALIFORNIA, April 11, 2025 —
Regular contributor to The World of Myth Magazine, and close friend of Chief Executive Officer, David K. Montoya, Alan Russo has been selected to join the Open Contract Challenge team in its seventh year.
It is a tough role, especially with the large number of submissions in 2025, a challenge to select the best ten, and possible wild card entry. Submissions each year have come from passionate creatives across the entire globe.
Alan's preference for writing film scripts and novel length pieces has in part influenced his decision to not take part as a contestant in 2025, with the SPEED edition of the Open Contract Challenge calling for one shot comic ideas, poetry chapbooks, and novellas.
"I will do the best I can with the Open Contract Challenge [this year]," said Alan Russo, the newly appointed Deputy Director of this year's competition. "I am looking forward to seeing who wins the prize at the end."

The Open Contract Challenge 2025 is the first time that this competition will only have one prize. First place will be awarded a contract for an e-book, paperback, and hardback print publication through the Dark Myth Publications division, full distribution market circulation, and will also receive a $200 USD cash prize.
Judging for the "pitch" round has recently begun, with plans to contact the successful entrants who will be moving on to the quarter finals by the end of this month.
