BURBANK, CALIFORNIA, March 03, 2025 —
The Open Contract Challenge (OCC), a nonprofit division of The JayZoMon Dark Myth Company, LLC, proudly announces the return of its seventh literary competition and this time, it's all about speed. Kicking off on March 16, 2025, the Speed Edition invites writers and creators of all genres and formats to pitch their best ideas in a streamlined, high-stakes contest.
Since 2019, the OCC has helped launch the careers of aspiring authors through a rigorous but rewarding competitive platform. This year's Speed Edition accelerates the timeline and making the path to publication quicker, sharper, and more competitive than ever.
HOW IT WORKS
Only 20 submissions will be selected to enter the challenge. From there, participants will advance through four intense rounds:
ROUND ONE: PITCH
Submit your pitch for a Chapbook, Novella, Novelette, Poetry Book, Comic Book, or Art Book. Creativity knows no bounds, that only the idea needs to shine.
Only 10 will advance.
QUARTERFINALS: ONE CHAPTER
Entrants submit Chapter One of their manuscript. This is your moment to hook the judges.
Only 5 will move on.
SEMIFINALS: SYNOPSIS
The Top 5 present a compelling synopsis of their full manuscript.
Only 2 finalists will be chosen.
FINALS: FULL MANUSCRIPT
The final step, submit your complete, polished manuscript. Only one can claim the prize.
GRAND PRIZE – ONE WINNER WILL RECEIVE:
- A publishing contract for digital and print formats (e-book, paperback, and hardback) through Dark Myth Publications
- Full distribution and market circulation
- A $200 USD cash prize
