6th Annual Open Contract Challenge Launches Today

BURBANK, CALIFORNIA, March 18, 2024 — The 6th Annual Open Contract Challenge officially kicks off today, inviting emerging writers, poets, comic creators, and artists to compete for a coveted publishing contract from The JayZoMon Dark Myth Company, LLC. This innovative contest has grown from a modest in-house writing competition into a fully public platform that champions fresh talent in pitching and publishing.

Participants begin by submitting a pitch—one of twenty will advance. Round two challenges entrants to craft a compelling first chapter, and from there, only ten will progress to submit a full synopsis. The top five finalists submit their complete manuscripts, with the final two vying for the grand prize: publication under a Dark Myth imprint.

Since its inception in 2019, the challenge has evolved into a multi-tier springboard for new voices. This year's edition marked the contest's sixth year and introduced multiple prize tiers and the option for winners to receive hardback publishing contracts. Past winners have seen their works brought to life across fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and more.
