Dawn Ius wrote her first book at the age of eight when she discovered writing about monsters was way less scary than looking for them under her bed. Since then, she's still leery of things that go bump in the night, but she'd like to think her thriller stories have improved. After earning a degree in journalism, Dawn ventured into corporate communications, marketing, and public relations and currently co-owns
Bridge Social Media. But her heart belongs to fiction.
Though she'll always be a British Columbia girl, Dawn now lives in Edmonton, Alberta with her husband, teenage stepdaughter and three bullmastiff hounds. When not writing her guts out, you can find Dawn reading, watching The Princess Bride , or indulging in her unhealthy addiction to reality TV.
Dawn also writes young adult and middle grade fiction under the last name DALTON. Her haunting short story, THREAD OF THE PAST, is included in the Spirited anthology published by Leap Books (2011) and KILLER’S INSTINCT, the first in the Most-Wanted Monsters series of novels Dawn is writing with author Judith Graves will be released by Leap in 2013.
In 2011, Dawn and author Jessica Bell launched Vine Leaves Literary Journal, paying tribute to the vignette.
