Paco Aramburu
Paco Aramburu
Paco Aramburu is an adopted son of Chicago where he began writing in the late 80's. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he began a career in movie directing during the late 70's, in that city. He had to escape the military regime that was ruling the country to end up in suburban Chicago as a refugee. Writing in English transformed his universe as he coupled his experience in another continent with the wide river of ideas, experiences, and modalities offered on this side of the world. This may bee the reason why some of his character are outsiders, trying to adjust to society. Paco is currently Vice President of the Off-Campus Writers' Workshop in Winnetka, Illinois (started in 1946) has two finished novels, another one in process, plus several short stories that he is considering putting out for publication. Just recently Paco won firstprize in two flash fiction contests.
