Come worthy Hector, hear our cries,
Just once, open your beauteous eyes.
Come gentle Hector, stand up and rise,
All of Troy needs your strategies wise.
Come bold Hector, ride your horse,
Our children need all your strength and force.
Come courageous Hector, hold up your shield,
With you as our leader, we will never yield.
Come brave Hector, throw your spear,
You faced a demi-god, without any fear!
Come hardy Hector, lie not so still,
For Troy's sake, rise up, if you will.
Come strong Hector, stir your limbs,
Don't leave our hopes, for they grow dim.
Come heroic Hector, you know we won't forget,
Your plucky deeds, which in stone are set.
Good-bye valiant Hector, our princely star,
Whose perfection, no demi-god could mar.
Go, sweet Hector, spiral up in peace
To green Elysium, where you'll get new lease.
Run handsome Hector in fields of gold,
History will remember all your actions bold.
Rest in peace daring Hector, your illustrious name,
Will glow through eons with honourable fame.
