where do memories go, when they are lost …
are they are taken away in a shoe box
-----------filled with old photographs …
do they hide among the cobwebs
----------in dark forgotten attics …
do they fly free
----------among the wind-blown clouds …
do they skip across fields
----------where we used to play as children …
do they wonder through a collage
----------of faded unfamiliar images …
do they hold hands
----------with loved ones from the past …
or, do they just vanish forever,
----------as old-age steals them away?
