It's April and here in Ontario, it might as well be November. Not only did we end up in the worst most restrictive lockdown so far, but many of us experienced snow this week!

SNOW! What the heck?

I said to a friend of mine, the snow was punishment for an early spring and a not so gentle reminder that Mother Nature rules all! She has had quite the field day with this whole pandemic and all of us being locked inside. She has had free reign and won't soon let us forget it.

I do have to marvel at the beauty of spring. That almost elusive glow that the trees get right before they explode in leaves. It is like a neon shimmer covers them, and you have to look just past the tree in order to see it. The ice is gone from the lake, the river beside my apartment runs again and they are getting ready to set up the fountain in the middle of it right before the dam. The ducks, cobra chickens…er…Canadian Geese, and all the summer birds have returned. Nesting and mating is happening everywhere. It truly is a “coming back to life” time of year. A re-awakening. I don't know about you, but I feel as if I have been sleep walking for over a year now. Just waiting to wake up, to begin, to emerge from this cocoon and start life.

But as I sit and look out my window at the vibrant green coming back, the heater beside me still churns out warmth. It just began to snow. Such is Spring in Ontario. If you are wondering, yes, that is what inspired my drabble too.

Things are really moving within the company though. I am always holding on to the hope that I will be around to see these things come to fruition. Such as PCE Scarefaire. I want with all my heart to be there. So, all of you reading this, will that into being! The event will happen, with or without me. Just will be to be there! K? Thanks!

I am putting a call out for any of our current authors. If you would like to create a 45 second plug for your book, then get in touch with Dave or I and we can discuss prices.

I want to update everyone on the Member of the Month T-shirts. While it was a wonderful idea, and we do have a list of people waiting for them, it has been a nightmare to execute. We chose to go with a local company, local to me, who is always reliable and dependable. Until Covid. Because we custom each shirt to fit the winner and to reflect the winning story, it has been difficult to actually get the shirts. Our supplier has been closed since our lockdown in the summer, open for curbside, but not restocking the items not regularly sold. So, I want to reassure you, that the shirts will be coming. When, I don't know for sure as Ontario has entered into the toughest lockdown yet and have now closed it's provincial borders to travel. We aren't even allowed to leave our county. The Premier of our Province has also given more power to the police to ticket and fine those outside of their counties. Thankfully, our police said no, they will not. But you see my dilemma.

Anyway, enough whining, that was just supposed to be an update on the shirts.

I hope you are all having a wonderful Spring, as best you can, and staying positive. To those in area's that life is starting to resemble something that looks normal, please be safe, and be smart. Do not be like Ontario.
