Siren's Song
By: Christopher Bice

Off the calm waters
The sunrise twinkles
As do your eyes
Little sparks of love
Like dancing pixies
Fluttering across the water
Our lips brush
Tasting ocean waters
Gently lapping soft sand
Two bodies entwined
As the surf caresses us
Envelops us
Pledging our love
Each vowing to return
To this beach
But a sailor's heart
Beats for just one
His mistress is the sea
Returning each night
You sit and sing
Your sad song of betrayal
Beckoning all who hear
To save you from anguish
From a broken vow
Come lie at my feet
On my bed of rocks
Come die for me.
