It's 2021 Mythkateers!

We made it. It's a new year. Same crap, but the date changed. LOL!! But seriously, it is a brand new year, the snow, in some places is piling up, the sand and cooler temps are prevailing in others. My mind turns to goals for the year. I don't make resolutions, because I am not resolute about anything. I set goals for myself. Small achievable goals, and larger ones that will take time and hard work. The smaller ones give me a sense of progress, and encourage me to continue to work towards the larger goals. I don't let myself get bogged down in failure because with goals, there is no such thing. You keep working towards them until you have completed the goal. So, no resolutions. To me, those are promises set up to fail.

Kinda heavy for the first issue of the new year! Sorry about that. I have been very reflective and since it is winter and I don't want to be a human popsicle, I am spending a lot of time alone inside examining myself. Not that way! LOL!!

As a human, I am always learning, growing, evolving into a better human. Winter for me, is that time to turn inwards and do the work that the sun in the summer chases away. I haven't done much writing since I finished The Chosen and that needs to change. That is a goal.

I want to take a moment and congratulate James Rumpel for winning his very first Member of the Month last month, and I promise the T-shirts will be going out. Covid has put our entire province back in lockdown and is making things difficult, but you will be getting them, I can't say enough how much your patience means to us in this trying time. Only essential workers are allowed to be open for business, so the place that our designer gets our shirts from hasn't been able to operate for a bit. Everything but essential business are closed. Ugh. I miss my trips to the craft store!

This month brings us a wide range of stories to keep you entertained on the cold nights, and dreary days. Poems to inspire you, break your heart, or make you smile, artwork that will make you question reality, and reviews that will educate and entertain you.

As we start this new year, with the very first issue of 2021, I hope you all are doing what you need to in order to get through the day. If that means, screaming into a pillow and eating a tub of ice cream or writing until your eyes cross, then do it. We will see the other side of this together. Dave's commentary gave me hope, gave me faith and made me believe that one day, we will walk in the sun again, we will gather as friends, and it will be one hell of a party!

Until next month, as always
