Hey Boys and Girls! Welcome to 2020's first commentary! I was slammed like I have never been with the JayZoMon's Pop Culture Expo and was quite literally unable to do anything other than last minute issue that arose for the event! If you were not there, boy oh boy, you missed an amazing event! It was a total of nine hours filled with celebrities, podcasts, cosplayers, kids, laughter, wrestlers and a dream come true. The day kicked off at 9AM with our SST (sensory sensitive ticketholders), and while there was only a few they had a great time! A good number of them decided to stay as at least four to five hundred people came through the door starting at 10AM. One of them SST peeps, that I want to give a shout out is my oldest child Jay Montoya. Not only did he stay for the entire event, but also had a vendor booth where he released a demo version of his game called, Bloodstreams Battles Online. While I did not have an opportunity to meet with each celebrity, my assistant Josh C. Addante absolutely rocked and I want to publicly thank him here! We had a ton of volunteers that came in and helped with the expo, my sincerest thanks to each of you! Another awesome thing was that there was a handful of folks from The World of Myth! People made seriously long journeys to come and show their support! Our Editor in Chief, Stephanie J. Bardy came in on the 3rd to assist my sister, Rebecca Ilich and myself in final plans for the expo. Then Friday night, our Game Reviewer, Jeff R. Young came in and helped with early set up and then headed out to bring the one and only Myth Master in for the event the following morning! Also, that night, Open Contract Challenge Grand prize winner, Melissa Ridley Elmes came into town as she was scheduled to host the public release of her book: Arthurian Things A Collection of Poems. Also, another public release was the magazine's own resident poet, Randolph R. Lofgren with his Poem book: What Will be, Will Be! Michelle E. Lowe made the trek to JayZoMon's Pop Culture Expo to represent The World of Myth, as she offered up her amazing novels (and let's not forget Robin, if that doesn't make sense check out her Instagram)! I was so deeply and utterly honored, how all came and showed their love for the magazine and to prove that we at The World of Myth are just people who contribute to an online magazine but are family! My thanks to all of you! Halfway through the event, three of our (as our former Managing Editor once called them) Mythketeers Rebecca Ilich, Myth Master Kevin Adams and Stephanie Bardy were our guest judges in our first annual cosplay contest! They held two separate contests, one for children and the other for adults—and from what I could tell as I raced around the venue, there was a fantastic turnout for it! While I'm thinking about it, I want to take this opportunity to thank all the vendors who took a chance and signed on for the Expo! The event came with the Expo Explosion, a full card of wrestling matches and while I continued working, I finally took a breather (seriously, I didn't take a break all day) for the main event as MLW Open Weight Champion, Hammerstone battled with local Blake Grayson for the JPWI World Heavyweight Championship! I have to say, in all honesty that was a dream come true and I reverted 30 years and I was no longer the promoter, but Dave the professional wrestling fanboy. It would be Grayson taking home the gold and becoming our first champion! It was an honor and pleasure, to have a post–match chat with the two and were fantastic! My gosh, the day was so exhausting and exciting, wrapped in a neat little package. Okay, so as I get ready to put this bad boy to bed, a few things to announce. To help fund JayZoMon's Pop Culture Expo, I took a ghostwriting gig. This means that my presence will be very minimal for the next few issues, but, we are focusing heavily on the magazine and I have placed Stephanie in charge of the whole online production, as she is now the Chief Operating Officer of Online Literature, which means if it's online she’s in charge.
