Hello Mythka yeah, no. I was going to go with the standard greeting, but that just isn't me. Hello my Darlings! I am Stephanie, the new Managing Editor, and this is the one place I can put my personal stamp on things! So, I'm going to (picture me sticking my tongue out). This is my first edition of The World of Myth Magazine as the managing editor, and it has been a blast putting issue 69 together! Mike Lutz left some pretty big shoes to fill, and I decided not to fill them. I brought my own shoes! Comfy slipperlike boots actually. So, this is me, comfy, with my cup of java, and a plethora of entertainment for you this month! First off, I would like to say Congratulations to Matt Wall and his story The Killing of P3 for winning Member of the Month! We will be talking soon my friend! Also to Copper Rose and her incredible short story Feeding the Queen of the Underworld. It has the honor of being Featured Article this month. It was a tough decision, as all the submissions were amazing, but this truly gave me chills and had me asking questions! Well done Ms. Rose! I would also like to welcome all the new contributors we have this month! Welcome to the family! Thank you so much for trusting us with your work! Now, that being said, this issue is packed with great stuff! Over in Action/Suspense, returning contributor Steven Carr has taken us on a suspenseful journey in A Murder in Rabbit Town and also returning is Mark Kodama with part one of his historical fiction Land of Pharaoh's I will say that there may be some triggering words or events in this story, so reader beware, but it is totally worth the read! We finish the section with another titillating instalment to Through the Eyes of Madness by David K. Montoya, again, be aware that this isn't a story for the kiddies or the faint of heart! Over in fantasy, we go on an incredible journey with a brand new author joining the World of Myth family, Lore Petrov and her cautionary tale GoodHearts Wood, we then take a trip to the darker side with Copper Rose and her chilling tale Feeding the Queen of the Underworld. Melissa Small treats us to part two of Heat and we find out a bit more about Union. Rounding out the Fantasy section is my latest instalment in the Merrik/Celeste world The Journey Begins. Leaving the relative safety of the Fantasy section, Matt Wall has brought us part one of his Horror tale Satanicus and it will leave you wanting more, and to leave the lights on! As we calm our nerves we are then plunged into the Sci/Fi world with Walter G. Esselman's Mystery of the Black Nail. Thankfully, Alan Russo gives us a great laugh in his comedy piece Happy Birthday Larry which is just what I needed before entering into our poetry submissions this month! The Poetry section covers a wide range of emotion. Newcomer Molly Hamilton brings us her piece Romances, while past contributor Mark Kodama regales us with the tale of Madam Eglantyne, the Believer The Knights of Acre. Randolph R. Lofgren gives us a treat with his piece Unbelievable and we get part 2 of Jeff R. Young's Alone in the Dark Transcendence. Lallie Napier surprises us with an unexpected limerick Fare Thee Well and I submit for your interpretation In a Dream I had. Finishing out our poetry section is a stellar piece by the ever morose but always lovable Kevin Magnus and his Corpse De Ballet. If you have had enough reading, then I highly recommend checking out the Art section. New contributor and our cover this month Boryana Ananieva brings us Toxic Love, returning artist Clayton Barton treats us to Scarlett in Wonder World, Jodi Perkins brings us a heart wrenching piece called Out of Tears and Randolph R. Lofgren brings us Dead Men Tell No Tales, and another new contributing artist Kristofor Harris brings us the first in a series. This piece is called Abraham In our review section Jason Bechard gives us his honest opinion of the movie AXL (warning, strong language is used) New contributor Jim Small gives us his review of the book Phasma and sticking to the Star Wars theme, PryceLess gives us her take on the video game Star Wars; The Old Republic. David K. Montoya gives us another thought provoking Art review to round out the review section. This month, our beloved Myth Master needed some personal time, so C.W. Winters stepped up and conducted an interview with alumni Mario Martinez in a Where are they now? and last but not least, the commentary, from our ever patient, and fearless leader David K. Montoya Thanks for checking us out this month! I hope I have met all your expectations and look forward to growing into this new role, and to continue to bring you new and exciting things! C ya!
