Reflection
By: Kevin Adams

When I was young I wanted to be older,
I was stupid then and so much bolder.

As I aged I made mistakes along the way,
failure is a brutal teacher one could say.

Wisdom comes from hurt, loss and belief,
it comes from laughter, joy and relief.

Now that I have finally reached an age where it pays to know,
I really wish sometimes that I could go,

Back to when life was much simpler for me,
a young man wore my shoes with less cares in the world to see.

However if it meant loosing what I have now I would never go,
for the loss of my lessons in life would be a fatal blow.

My journey has been rough, but I won't complain,
for those things I've learned are more valuable than my pain.

As the years pass now I tend to to reflect on what has been,
but yet still look forward and on how to win.

One piece of advice I'll give as I close this out,
always love every moment of your life without a doubt.
