A Secret Untold
By: Mallory Stroop

Thoughts bleed into her brain,
Why must things always be the same?
A helping blade could pierce her tender skin,
But what would come of that in the end?

Butterflies swarm deep in her soul,
Leaving her secret pain untold.
Darkness fills her lonely heart,
Why did she let it happen? How did it even start?

Lies begin to eat up her mind,
Scaring her thoughts in time.
Why did she let him reel her in?
That’s what she gets for trusting him.

Now the world is so cold and full of disgust.
She’s been through this before--
She has already lost.

But she knows she must be strong,
Not to let this one hold her down.
Hate will always pierce the soul,
But if you don’t let it go,
It will leave pain-filled secrets untold.
