Casket Case
Part 2
By: Steve Bolin

He was paralyzed by fear – fear that he’d lose his weakening self control. In this close proximity, he could smell her sweet perfume. It was an intoxicating aroma. Her face was as flawless as her well-toned body. His reasoning abilities all but shut down. He felt mesmerized. Every cell in his body screamed at him to make love to her right there on his office desk.

In an effort to slow his racing heart, he somehow broke eye contact and looked back out the window. Where was a UFO when you needed one? He gasped sporadically, trying to breath through his mouth instead of inhaling her delicious aroma through his nose.

“I think you should leave now,” Dan whispered through a mouth that felt desert dry. He barely heard himself say the words.

“What was that?” she whispered back at him. Her voice was soft and sweet like a flower-scented breeze. Her words caressed the side of his face; her hot breath spoke promises of the pleasures to come. Her two large orbs of her flesh pressed firmly against his chest. His brain felt like it was melting.

He wasn’t sure if he could repeat himself. Before he could try, a hole appeared in the window. Were some local neighborhood kids throwing rocks outside? The distraction might not be as good as a UFO but…

There was something very wrong. The spider-webbed hole in the window was… It was what?

He couldn’t remember. The next thing he knew, inky blackness swallowed his mind and spit it out in this casket. What happened while he was unconscious? Who brought him and his wife to this ghoulish point of no return?

The only suspect Dan could think of was Stacy Clemmons. But why would the red-headed beauty want to kill them? Was Stacy of the mindset that if she couldn’t have him, no one could? Did her angelic face hide an evil, twisted mind? There were too many questions and not enough answers.
