Halloween poem

Ghosties and ghoulies
Creatures who commit terrible cruelties
Those things that go BUMP in the night
Gremlins and grotesques
Those spine-chilling moments
That which just gives you a fright

They all come together
On the first day of never
The time of year when your skin flares and itches
Goosebumps galore
You scream so much more
When you strike upon a coven of witches

They cackle "Trick or treat!"
You stumble down your street
The veil between life and death is thin
It is the night of Halloween
And you can't remember where you've been
Judged for your mountains of sin

If it's just sweets and candy
Well, that's fine and dandy
Your punishment shan't be too steep
If your guilt be much greater
Beware the sewer's grater
Else you might end the night in a grave that's dug deep

For tonight don't you know
The kids put on a show
But the monsters, they also do creep
So, board up your house
Stay as quiet as a mouse
And make sure you don't fall asleep

For that knock at your door
Could be kids who want more
Of that sweet stuff that rots away teeth
Or it could be the spectre
That is Vincent von Vector
The killer the news call The Soul Thief
