I see you, Dad, I see you not just beyond those
clouds as white as cotton; I see you in a ray of
sunlight that rests on my cheek and kisses me.
I see you, Dad, I see you: as handsome as ever,
with that one smile, that holds within it all the
goodness in the world, which I've never found
anywhere else.
I see you, Dad, and feel like screaming because
I can't hug you, talk to you, without feeling the
passage of time, exchange thoughts on a poem
that has not yet bloomed, but lies like a bud on
the white paper: talk about this world that tries
to kill our souls, fragile as those verses of the
poem afraid of the lightning and the storms.
