Have you ever wanted to get some friends together and blow the smithereens out of some zombies? Then do I have the game for you. It delivers with video game feel, cinematic moments, and of course awesome zombie slaying teamwork.
It has streamlined rules making it more accessible than the first version and did I mention the absolute mountain of miniatures? It has good table presence, and you can quickly get knee deep in an un-dead mess.
You can level up, find loot, weapons, and complete objectives with different characters and feel cool pulling off a win against the odds. Not immersive, but man is it fun to wield a chain saw and a sniper rifle.
I do recommend you play a copy to get the addiction started, and then you can find out just how much content and different variations there are.
I give this one an 8.75 out of 10.
This game blends traditional board gaming with digital storytelling to create a competitive adventure experience. Set in a dark fantasy world, players explore, interact, and pursue secret destinies.
There are moments when luck can occasionally influence outcomes, and the app is essential to play. It also feels like the app does most of the heavy lifting. Destinies captures the feel of a role playing game without requiring a game master. There are a few bits and bobbles to help you track what you've already found.
I have played it a couple times and found it's best at a three player or less count. It has decent artwork, and this game mostly shines with narrative immersion. I highly recommend you play a copy or research it before considering purchase.
I give it a 5.5 out of 10.
Until next time, may the dice be ever in your favor.
