While trekking through the Amazon rainforest, Teresa paused to examine a grasshopper climb in jerking movements up a tree. Her friends did not stop, though, so she left the grasshopper, missing when a mushroom grew out of the grasshopper's neck and opened to shower the rainforest with its spores.

Two weeks later, she began her own jerking dance to the top of Empire State Building. The tourist's well-meaning shouts for her to get down turned to screams when the fungus pushed upward from the base of her neck. It slowly opened, showering the city of New York with the Amazon's gift.
