Well-known sayings are usually trite, but true.
As in “Better to have your enemies in the tent
pissing out, than outside the tent pissing in.”
But imagine how helpful that action would be if
said tent was a burning inferno.
There is also this adage, “Keep your friends close,
and your enemies closer.” However, consider this,
how long would it take said friends to come to your
aid while you were being attacked by your enemies
who were standing right next to you?
The moral to this story, well, you knew there would
be one, is, “Any job worth doing is worth doing well.”
because, “There's many a slip twixt cup and lip,” and
“When the going gets tough, the tough get going.”
so, “Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.”
