Five Minutes Last Forever
By: Ann Christine Tabaka

Waiting, always waiting / everything takes too long.
Eating away at our lives / minutes are a curse.
A grocery line too long - when we have places to go.
A dinner in the oven - when we are hungry.
Deadlines looming overhead. No time to sit and
ponder. We watch the clock so carefully as each
second ticks slowly by. Five minutes can feel like
an eternity. Fingers drumming on a table. Feet
tapping on the floor. Wasting away precious
moments, time rules our lives in breaths and sighs,
until there are none left. One day regret will replace
impatience. When only minutes remain to live,
we want those 5 minutes to take forever.
