Be Still
By: Kate MacDonald-Dunbar

Be still for a moment, can you sense anything,
I'm standing beside you, can't you hear me?
Look into your mirror, don't you see that haze
Hovering around, enveloping you? That's me

Being nebulous is fine if you don't want to make
An impression on the world that you're trapped in
But I want to leave my mark, have my words heard
I need your eyes, hands, and voice, to convey them

Channel me, only give me a day. I'll wear you as if
you were an haute couture garment. No answer?
I feared that. I must accept that I'm mist and misery.
My truth will die with me because no one can hear.
