Hey Mythketeers! Welcome to our super duper, Mega March issue. It is not what we had planned. It definitely is not how we do business with this magazine, and even now, it is late. But it is what Mother Nature, in her infinite, hold my beer, wisdom, decreed. I go south to get away from the snow. To avoid having to put on a thick coat, or wear mittens. Well, in the last two months, I have had to do just that. Now, I have been told that this is unusual. It hasn’t happen like that since 1989. That’s what happens when you have a Canadian in residence! Snow, in March, when the tree’s were blooming, and the Robins were going ‘What the hell!’ As much fun as the kids had in it, our internet connection outside, did not. Even now, they haven’t been able to come out and fix it properly, so some days we have a good solid connection, some days the internet says Nope and shuts off. Anyway, enough of that, I want to congratulate Dawn Debraal for winning Member of the Month in January and congratulate Tim Law for getting Featured article this month. I want to take a moment and talk about Tim’s piece. It is different from what he usually submits to us, and it really struck a cord with me. If you have ever listened to any of my older podcasts, you will know why. While it tackled a very serious issue and dealt with a situation where you have choices to make on how you will feel about the main character, I felt that it needed to be read. Someone out there, in a similar situation needed to read it. If you are in an abusive relationship, be it a partner or a parent, reach out, be heard, get help. Get out. Thank you, Tim, for pulling up a topic that isn’t talked about much and shining a light on it. I only saw one Monster, and it wasn’t her. C. Flynt’s book Promised Rewards hit the shelves and is a joy to read. If you remember, he was our first place winner for our Open Contract Challenge for 2022. Robert P. Ottone will be coming out in July with his e-Book and he was our second place winner. Speaking of the OCC, (see what I did there?) That time of year has come again! We are 9 days into the new season and things are heating up. Rejection insurance is popular, submissions are coming in daily and it is shaping up to be an amazing year! I can’t believe it is the 5th year for it! What started out as a passing conversation, an idea, a simple ‘what if’, turned into something much larger and way more important to people than we ever imagined. I can honestly say, from everyone at The JayZoMon Dark Myth Company, and it’s subsidiaries, the Open Contract Challenge and Dark Myth Publishing, thank you. Thank you to everyone who entered, thank you to everyone who supported us year after year. Thank you. I know we will continue to improve our contest every year, as we are always learning, and I hope you will all be along for the ride with us in 5 more years! A lot has happened in the last two months. Some good, some bad. But all a part of the cadence that is life. Like the song said, you take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have, the facts of life. Some facts are easier to take than others. I would like to get serious for a moment and apologize to anyone who has felt that I may or may not have given them the time or the attention I should have. Not as an excuse, but I have been feeling very overwhelmed and uninspired. Steps are being taken to fix that, and I am sure I will get my passion and writing mojo back, but I wanted you to know I wasn’t ignoring anyone, or trying to do a crap job. I am human, and as a human, we all struggle. This is me, struggling. As we move into Spring, and the warmth comes back, it will also come back into me. I am a warm sunny day kinda girl, and I have been lacking that. I need fresh air, water and sunshine. I am a houseplant with complicated emotions. So on that note, I will end this weird little intro and let you enjoy our magazine. Until next month Respectfully,
