Review of Hunt.Kill.Repeat #1 by Mad Cave Studio
By: Nolan P. Smith

I have slowed down on
my comic book reviews as I have dived deeper into the action figure
world, but when you have a revenge tale starring the family tree of
the Greek pantheon, you get me back in. Get ready for mythological
mayhem with Hunt.Kill.Repeat #1, coming soon from Mad Cave Studios.
From Mark London, who
has wowed me with his writing in Knights of the Golden Sun and
Battlecats, and artists Francesco Archidiacono, Marc Deering, Lee
Loughridge, and letters by Rus Wooton, the story starts with the
Greek gods returning and taking over modern-day society. Ten years
pass, and Artemis, the famed Goddess of the Hunt, is living among the
humans- married to a mortal man and pregnant with their son. When
Zeus and the other gods find out, all Hades breaks loose.
London crafts a mature
tale worthy of the Greek myths. We see the grandeur of the Greek
pantheon, with their “I’m better than you, and I know it”
vibe. Artemis is just someone trying to break from family tradition,
but that doesn’t work too well when Zeus, Hermes, and more
dangle from your family tree. The artwork is fantastic- I love the
action-charged panels and killer designs. Hunt. Kill. Repeat kicks
off with a bang, literally. This high-octane Odyssey has an excellent
first chapter! I am incredibly impressed with the latest outing from
Mad Cave - be sure to preorder yours today!
