Gaia opened her eyes and moved restlessly, the ground shifting around her as she focused on her beloved children.

They'd been ravaged, despite her hoping mankind would've changed by now. Trees which had endured thousands of years were gone, forests laid bare along with everything within. Some had burned, others decimated in the name of progress, with precious life snuffed out everywhere.

Erupting from the earth, Gaia screamed, her voice the howling wind, the raging seas, and the cries of the hurt and dying.

Eyes ablaze, she headed for the nearest city. It was time to deal with the parasites.
