Patterns in the Snow

Katie had the time of her life, playing with the blood and drawing artistic swirls in the snow with it. The man whose insides she'd liquified lay motionless nearby, face contorted in horror.
A lot had changed since her first murders. Originally, she'd worked to conceal them, but her pride and sense of accomplishment had steadily increased. That's why she'd changed tactics, drawing attention to her handiwork now rather than concealing it.
Women shouldn't have to endure abuse. Abusers shouldn't get away with it.
Knowing her efforts helped ensure they wouldn't, Katie studied the bloody snow and nodded in satisfaction.
