Department Reports

Myth Mart – Alan - Two presales for Musings From Me, and Walter ordered 50 books

Phase One Myth Mart West Coast,

Phase Two Myth Mart Canada

Phase Three Myth Mart UK.

We are losing tons of money due to shipping. Amazon offers free shipping, and we don’t as of yet. Slowly expanding the brand so that we can have a presence to compete and find a way to offer free shipping.

In order to do this, we need a Myth Mart in all 50 states, Canada, and UK.

Dave updates how ordering is done now for author’s. He spoke to Amazon and ended up having to buy them for cover price so that Walter could have them on time.

Walter tried to email sales@mythmart.com and it was bounced back.

The emails have been an issue. Alan says he isn’t getting them until a week later. Dave updates on which ones he cut to save the company money. Dave will change that on the website.

Back to Myth Mart West coast, Dave requests approval to offer the job to Gary Falls, indicating that he has ample space for inventory. The Board votes and approves to send a contract to Mr. Falls to be the manager of Myth Mart West Coast.

Advertising – Stephanie – Has been conducting a social experiment. Been advertising and creating ads for all divisions and has seen the foot traffic increase to our websites. T-shirts seem to be the big sellers, so she is finding that creating and scheduling the ads are getting our brands out there. More people are becoming aware of us and she is still playing around with the time frames to find the most opportune times to schedule our ads. Doing them on a regular basis is pushing them onto the newsfeeds and on to the Instagram streams. The ad space on our podcasts have been set on the back burner but will be brought back out. Asks the Directors to submit their idea’s for ads each week if they choose. Walter offers to help with advertising, and Steph reiterates that everyone should be sharing all the ads from our company. Dave suggests putting our logo on a Pride T-shirt

Circulation Department/Social Media – Stephanie – Asks that everyone please circulate everyone’s ads, and promotions. Steph shares her idea of some new funny t-shirts for Myth Mart and also introduces the idea of a discount if the buy a more than one item. Generic t-shirts with funny sayings on it will be made to sell so that we can get people in the door.

Magazine – Stephanie – Magazine is doing well; we will be putting out a call for submissions for our Pride month special issue. Walter’s static ad is going in.

Dark Myth Publications

  1. Editor in Chief Report – Stephanie – Working on Incandescence. Due to Dave on the 23rd. On the 30th Alien of Orchard Lake and Liberty’s Run will be started. Michael McGee has been pushed to 2023 and his contract needs to be rewritten.

  1. Publisher Report – Dave – We publish stuff. Pretty cool. We published Stephanie’s poetry book to fill the empty slot from Michael McGee. Walter wants a print copy of his Cowboys’ vs. Aliens. Dave has a set amount of books that our company will publish each year, which is why he did the poetry book because he tells the printer the set amount for the year and they give us our cost. He then updates us on The Rise, Fall and Redemption of Dark Myth, being the 30th year, he asks the Board for their experiences within the company.

Dark Myth Comics – Dave – Sent out a contract to Henry, owner of Comic Cult HD, he has agreed to become the Editor in Chief. Dave asks the Board if they feel it is a good move to sign the contract. Dave explains why we have two comic companies. Dark Myth is the original brand and publishes what we own. Nu Wave doesn’t own the rights to anything that we produce.

Outsider Distribution – Kris We are starting a distribution company called Outsider. John did some of the legwork, he got 600 bring and mortar comic shops email address, Kris is contacting them to get our comics into their stores. Kris has contacted about 1/3 of that list. Henry had committed to selling our comics, Kevin offers to sell our comics in his shop as well. Dave is to shoot Kevin an email.

Nu Wave - Walter updates on the Liberty’s Run comic. Dave is going to do a Monger’s comic book. John is doing our version of Cracked and Madd magazine, called Durr. John is really pushing the advertising for Nu Wave. He is going a great job. John has put up an ad looking for submissions for the magazine and has made it clear that it is a contribution basis only and not a paid gig. Mascot idea’s are discussed.

Live Events Committee – Dave – There is going to be a PCE 2022. Dave is confident that we can reach an agreement with the Apple Valley Inn to hold PCE there. He has been on site and checked it out. The owner is putting together the package of how much it will cost. The Fairgrounds have raised their prices by $1500.00 more. They wanted to charge different insurance because of the cosplay because of the stage and the wrestling. Will be held November 12. The hours have also been cut.

JayZoModcast – Dave – The Mythmaster is coming to the network with a 45-minute show, every Sunday. As his show gains ground Dave will bring in higher quality celebrities. He is starting once a month, Starting the 24th he will be on the network. Kevin is trying to get a pilot episode together before the Jenna episode, so people know what to expect now. It all depends on how far down the rabbit hole Kevin feels like going on social media with Myth Master.

OCC – Walter – Going well, but Walter needs the master list of who is chosen and who isn’t. Someone else is asking what they pitched. 3 people didn’t remember what they put in our contest. Walter suggests that we put up information on how to do a synopsis, how to do a pitch etc. So that people have an idea on what we are asking for. Steph voices concern over giving people to much help in winning the contest. They come to an agreement, and it is decided to put up a few links to give them an idea on how to do pitches to make life easier on those weeding through the pitches. Kevin agrees with both parties. Steph is just worried that people will expect more and more help. Kevin suggests an FAQ page to answer those questions. Walter agrees and says that is all he wanted to do. Dave asks Walter to write up the FAQ and Dave will code it and add it to the website.

Walter makes a point of saying that the OCC contest is almost like our Farm Team where we can hand pick people, we want to publish down the road. Kevin recommends that we consider reaching out to those that have stuck in our heads even if they didn’t make the round cut. Steph points out that the ones chosen from the OCC cast offs won’t be published until a year after the winners are published. It’s a great opportunity to fill our line-up for the next year.

JPWI – Dave decides that we are pulling the plug for JPWI as VPW has launched. Our contact for talent has started his own company and we just don’t feel that it is worth competing with. Kevin suggests that we get him to book at our events. Make him pay to be at our events. Offer him the same as any other exhibitor.

Old Business – There was none.

New Business - Separating the Board into two Boards the Board of Directors and the Leadership Board. Dave has not decided yet how that will work but it is something that will happen and will be figured out in the coming weeks. The reason why we are splitting the Board is because the Leadership Board is more focused on their specific brand and the Board of Directors will be focused on the company.

2M Newszine which is our newsletter turned into a mini magazine for purchase. Turn our newsletter into a small print magazine. We will have 8 things to talk about, it can be as simple as 500 words, with pictures included. It can be 2 pages each, it costs us 2 and change to make them, we will offer the writers a free digital copy and whatever it comes out to per words. These writers would be coming from The World of Myth. (displays demo)

Kevin suggests we create a bookmark for our authors that they can use to help promote their book and we can sell them to the author at a bulk deal. Kevin has more ideas.
