Advertising – Stephanie – 30 percent of sales are coming from the magazine and from the podcasts, which are the biggest sales avenues for Myth Mart.

Packages are the most popular in the new ad sheet.

Doing a social experiment for video ads, using Podcast Tictok account.

Numbers for downloads have increased since doing the ads.

Video ads are getting peoples attention so Steph is going to work on the video ads for the OCC, and do audio ads promoting the OCC, short ads for our books, our websites, and what we do. To try and pull in contributors.

Circulation Department/Social Media – Stephanie – Ties in with advertising. Social media is growing, going to be promoting Twitter more but it seems to be fading. Also going to be putting more content up on our social media.

Dave says we have had a change in how we do things with the podcast, and for the first time in 10 years, he is putting up a direct link to the podcast. Which has also increased our numbers.

Mythbits is our highest show due to magazine review, the numbers doubled in a week.

Magazine – Stephanie – Still plugging away, this month was the biggest month for contributors since Steph came on board, we have 7 new contributors. Magazine is going very well. Everyone likes the new logo.

Dave explains the new logo and why we have one. How it changes over time with each editor, what the magazine is at the time, how it captures the essence of that time.

Dark Myth Publications

  1. Editor in Chief Report – Stephanie - Just finished Processing Things, it has now been sent to printers. Will be starting Michael Mcgee’s book. He has the contract; he wants to have a lawyer look it over. I told him that was fine, I would still continue to start the editing process. Bring a full book I do want to have enough time. Processing Things will be released March 1st.

Tim Law has sent in two queries and Jim Bates has sent a query, plus the ones from the website. Working on the 2023 line-up.

  1. Publisher Report – David – we put out the first book of the year which was Stumbling through Crazytown and it released on the 8th of January, unfortunately Amazon released it early and she made all her sales through Amazon and we got three. He just finished up Michael Arnolds book, Dave and Alan are going to do a presale campaign so that we can get the sales before Amazon. Peggy’s ebook drops the 22 of February. We are working on the comics and waiting for Sirius to get the pages to ink.

Dark Myth Comics – Kris wants to put out a quarterly comic out side of what we are doing now. David and Alan have written 6 issues of American Smash, issue 5 is currently being drawn by Idris Ysef it is being inked by Sirius Small. John is working on Hearts of Desire. The Luchador Horror story. For Chronicles of the Unknown. Dave is working on and talking to someone to help Kris, so he is going to meet with Henry who is the owner of Comic Cult about taking on the Editor in Chief role.

Live Events – Rebecca no update

JayZoModcast – Dave is acting producer, still doing our thing, we are now adding Pastrami Nation as we have obtained the audio rights. They are a video podcast and now we will put out the audio. This is a big feather in our cap. Nolan, has some really good insights and ideas.

OCC – Walter – Gearing up for year 4, he will be working on getting the videos from our past winners so that we can use them as ads for the contest. He is going to email all previous entrants and those from prior years to let them know that it is coming up again.

Old Business –

  1. Producer for Podcast update – working on it

  2. Update on Dark Myth Comics policies – worked on that yesterday, he worked on 112207 and the prices needed to change, Dave went in and adjusted it and realized other things needed to be changed he completely rewrote it and then proceeds to read said policy. (refer to audio to hear policy as it is written now)

  3. PCE Update – California is relaxing it’s Covid rules. Moving forward now, Dave needs to touch base with Rebecca and our Live Events Committee.

New Business –

  1. Walter has policies to present – Refer to audio for complete details, Walter will write up the polices and present the written policies at the next meeting. They refer to financial rules to make sure we are safe guarding our processes.

  2. Stephanie has an amendment to Policy 042008 Accounting - The Treasurer will obtain reports monthly from each department, and then report to Steph, the CFO on a quarterly basis as long as each report is on the up and up. If there is anything suspicious, he will report immediately.

  3. We have now set up one central payment portal so that there is no confusion or opportunity for theft. Numbering the contract is a good idea as well.

  4. John presents his idea of what he would like to do with it. His idea is to being in publishers, creators, writers, and they would publish through us. They keep the rights, we just publish and sell their stuff. They would be under our umbrella and make it happen. Dave says that we will get the creative work and publish it, from other creators. There are several idea’s tossed around and options for what we can do with the brand.

Dave puts out the proposal to bring back Nu Wave Comix. It was voted back into existence.

Then he offers the position of Managing Editor to John. He accepts.

Dave presents each member with a Self Evaluation form and asks each member to fill it out and send it in.

Emails are working again. The new business emails had a glitch and now are back. The email on the advertising sheet will be changed and resent.
