You keep telling me that everything will be all right,
I want to believe you but sometimes I doubt.
You tell me if she doesn't by the end of the month you will,
But another month passes and still we wait.
I love you so very much I would wait forever,
But when will the wait finally be at an end.
As each deadline you have set comes and goes,
My heart crumbles a bit and another bruise forms.
I understand your reasons for wanting to keep it civil,
But when will it be our turn, our time for happiness.
We have waited so long already because of outside interference,
How much longer will you put us on hold?
Please, my love, my soul mate, my best friend,
My heart is battered and bruised, please don't let it break.
